HOW DO I CLEAN MY JEWELLERY?
To obtain the best radiance a diamond must be clean. To remove grease from your diamonds, we recommend gently washing them with hot water and washing-up liquid. Please be sure to first secure the sink or use a bowl. Dry your jewellery with a cotton or linen towel.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY PLATED JEWELLERY?
Selected Sophie Birgitt pieces feature blends of luxurious colours such as midnight blue, metal gun black or dark cognac. These pieces have been plated with rhodium. Rhodium plated jewellery requires careful handling and maintenance. Rhodium is a fragile metal that comes from the platinum family. This material is hypoallergenic and does not corrode. To prolong the life of the rhodium plating it is important to care for it properly. Put hot water and a few drops of liquid dish detergent in a non-metallic bowl or cup and place your jewellery into the water allowing it to sit for 30-60 seconds. Gently scrub the piece with your fingers or dry your jewellery with a cotton or linen towel. Silver dips or products made from ammonia will damage the coating

WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY BASIS GUIDELINE?
Whether you wear them every day or only occasionally, your Sophie Birgitt pieces are precious objects that require the right care and attention. The guide below will help you to preserve them in their original condition.
  • Allow yourself the necessary time to be able to handle your jewellery carefully.
  • Ensure that you remove your jewellery when washing your hands and putting on perfume or face cream. The particles present in these cosmetics, which are not eliminated by rapid rinsing, may become lodged in cavities and form a corrosive blend of materials that in the long term may lead to premature deterioration of the metal.
  • Products containing mercury, such as mercurochrome, cause irreversible damage to gold.
  • Take your regular activities into account when choosing your jewellery.
  • Avoid the friction caused by wearing several rings on the same finger.
  • Ensure you do not place your jewellery too close to sources of intense heat, to X-rays or to other sources of radioactivity.

HOW DO I STORE MY JEWELLERY?
Jewellery items become scratched when they come into contact with one another. We recommend you to store them individually in the Sophie Birgitt case that you were given at the time of purchase. You are strongly advised not to place several pieces of jewellery together without protection.

WHAT IS YOUR REPAIR POLICY?
We are happy to repair, adjust or clean any jewellery purchased on our online store. A fee may apply depending on the circumstances of the repair. Sophie Birgitt is not responsible for the subsequent shipping fees.
